Our Most Powerful Asset

Words are powerful

Words are generative. We create reality through language. We perceive reality through language. Therefore, we have the power to think, speak and write reality into existence.

Words consist of vibration and sound. It is these vibrations that create the reality that surrounds us. Therefore we should choose our words with care in order to create our chosen reality.

Misuse of our most powerful asset

Why do we choose to misuse our most powerful asset? When we complain about our lives to others, we are choosing to put negative words into the universe to become a reality. When we say something out loud enough times it becomes the truth not only in our mind but in the minds of everyone we are speaking to. Quick tip: set a 5 minute complaint timer and then turn the conversation to focus on solutions and proactive positive methods to create the desired outcome.

Do we really want to share that we are overwhelmed, out of shape, burnt out, over-scheduled or whatever else might come to mind when we aren’t in our power? How does it impact your mindset and outlook when you speak those words out loud? When we refer to our work life as “grinding”, “the trenches”, or “crazy”, day in and day out, what kind of reality do we create? Could we do a better job of consciously choosing the words we speak?

Choose to empower yourself through words

“I am grinding at work and it’s crazy today” will get you another crazy day tomorrow and the day after. A more realistic statement about your work would be: my talents were put to good use today and I made a difference in people’s lives. Connect back to your purpose. Just because the day felt “crazy” to you does not make it everyone else's perception or reality. Think about all of the lives you positively impact day in and day out and start to frame your reality from there. You are valued. You are appreciated. You are important.

Practice improved self-awareness over the words that we use to describe ourselves and our life. Words based in a negative mindset should be avoided. They rob us of the opportunity to manifest the life that we deserve to live.

Negative self-talk and phrases like “I am overweight and I don’t like how I look” will further lower your motivation and self esteem and keep you out of the gym and away from the personal trainer.  A more constructive statement that will affirm you and help you create a new reality would be: ‘I am in the process of being healthier” or “When I make healthy choices I get closer to my ideal level of wellness”.

Our thoughts impact what we manifest in our lives

The real power lies in the words we speak, think and write. It is our words that provide a bold affirmation of our innermost thoughts and present an opportunity for us all to create our reality.

The next time you consider focusing on what went wrong in your day, ask yourself:

  • How is this going to serve me or my happiness?
  • Will this help me feel better about myself and create the reality I want to live?
